Digital Intermediaries: More than New Actors on a Crowded Media Stage

Digitization, digital convergence and digitalization are well-known terms that have caused a huge impact on the media landscape in last two decades. The embedded consequences of increase free information online or lack stable profits for companies present day-to-day practices news companies. However, there is understanding how emergence new players has modified logic rhythm production chain. In this article, we try to identify theoretical approach analyze classify different roles actors considered be disrupting stage. Through systematic literature review more than 200 articles published twenty years, define term better understand nature these players: intermediaries. Furthermore, argue need clear taxonomy regarding intermediaries, paying special attention shifts companies’ definition delivery value.
